Valanext

Valaciclovir, also known as valacyclovir in the United States, is an antiviral medication that serves as a prodrug of acyclovir, designed to treat and suppress infections caused by herpes viruses such as herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV).[1][2] It is administered orally as tablets and is marketed under the brand name Valtrex, and available as a generic medication in the United States since November 2009.[3][4][5] It is included on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines.[6] With initial FDA approval in 1995 for managing recurrent genital herpes.
