Infliximab, a chimeric monoclonal antibody, sold under the brand name Remicade among others, is a medication used to treat a number of autoimmune diseases. This includes Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and Behçet's disease. It is given by slow injection into a vein, typically at six- to eight-week intervals.

Infliximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα), a pro-inflammatory cytokine central to the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.[1] Developed as a biologic therapy, it neutralizes the biological activity of both soluble and transmembrane forms of TNFα, thereby inhibiting its interaction with cell surface receptors, reducing the production of other inflammatory mediators such as interleukin-1 (IL-1) and IL-6, and limiting leukocyte migration to sites of inflammation.[1]
