Reclide -XR 60

Gliclazide is a second-generation sulfonylurea oral antihyperglycemic medication primarily used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in adults, as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control.[1] It belongs to the class of insulin secretagogues that stimulate insulin release from pancreatic beta cells, helping to lower blood glucose levels in patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes.[2] Chemically, gliclazide is described as 1-(3-azabicyclo[3.3.0]oct-3-yl)-3-(p-tolylsulfonyl)urea, with the molecular formula C₁₅H₂₁N₃O₃S and a molecular weight of 323.41 g/mol; it appears as a white crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water but soluble in dichloromethane.[1]
