Miconazole is a broad-spectrum synthetic imidazole antifungal agent used primarily for the topical treatment of superficial fungal infections, including those affecting the skin, nails, vagina, and oral mucosa.[1] It is effective against dermatophytes, yeasts such as Candida species, and certain Gram-positive bacteria, making it suitable for conditions like athlete's foot (tinea pedis), ringworm (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), cutaneous candidiasis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, and oropharyngeal candidiasis.[1][2][3]
