Calamine is an over-the-counter topical medication primarily used to relieve mild itching, known as pruritus, and to dry out oozing skin irritations from various minor conditions.[1] It consists mainly of zinc oxide, often combined with a small amount of ferric oxide to give it a distinctive pink color, along with other ingredients such as bentonite, glycerin, and sometimes phenol for enhanced soothing effects.[2][3]

Calamine เป็นยาใช้ภายนอกที่จำหน่ายได้โดยไม่ต้องมีใบสั่งแพทย์ (over-the-counter) ใช้เป็นหลักเพื่อบรรเทาอาการคันเล็กน้อย (pruritus) และช่วยให้ผิวหนังบริเวณที่ถูกระคายเคืองจนมีน้ำซึมจากภาวะผิวหนังอักเสบเล็กน้อยต่าง ๆ แห้ง[1] ยานี้ประกอบด้วย Zinc oxide เป็นส่วนประกอบหลัก มักผสมกับ Ferric oxide ปริมาณเล็กน้อยเพื่อให้ได้สีชมพูอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ ร่วมกับส่วนประกอบอื่น ๆ เช่น Bentonite, Glycerin และบางครั้งอาจมี Phenol เพื่อเพิ่มฤทธิ์ในการปลอบประโลมผิว[2][3]
