Gluxit

Dapagliflozin, sold under the brand names Farxiga (US) and Forxiga (EU) among others, is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It is also used to treat adults with heart failure and chronic kidney disease. It reversibly inhibits sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT-2) in the renal proximal convoluted tubule to reduce glucose reabsorption and increase urinary glucose excretion.

Dapagliflozin is a selective inhibitor of the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) protein, a class of oral antidiabetic medications that promote glucose excretion in the urine by blocking renal glucose reabsorption.[1] Sold under the brand name Farxiga in the United States and Forxiga in the European Union, it was initially approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in January 2014 as an adjunct to diet and exercise for improving glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.[1]
