Ondansetron
Ondansetron, sold under the brand name Zofran among others, is a medication used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, migraines, or surgery. It is also effective for treating gastroenteritis. It can be given orally, intramuscularly, or intravenously.

Ondansetron
It works by blocking 5-HT3 receptors in the central nervous system, particularly in the area postrema of the brain, and peripherally on the vagus nerve afferents, thereby inhibiting the emetic reflex triggered by serotonin release during these treatments.[1] This mechanism provides effective antiemetic activity with good tolerability, making it a cornerstone therapy for highly emetogenic conditions.[4]
