Magnesium sulfate (medication)
Magnesium sulfate as a medication is used to treat and prevent low blood magnesium and seizures in women with eclampsia. It is also used in the treatment of torsades de pointes, severe asthma exacerbations, constipation, and barium poisoning. It is given by injection into a vein or muscle as well as by mouth. As Epsom salt, it is also used for mineral baths.
Magnesium sulfate ในรูปแบบยา ใช้สำหรับรักษาและป้องกันภาวะแมกนีเซียมในเลือดต่ำ และอาการชักในสตรีที่มีภาวะลมชักจากครรภ์ (eclampsia) นอกจากนี้ยังใช้ในการรักษา torsades de pointes ภาวะหืดกำเริบอย่างรุนแรง อาการท้องผูก และการได้รับพิษจาก barium ให้ยาโดยการฉีดเข้าหลอดเลือดดำหรือเข้ากล้ามเนื้อ รวมถึงรับประทาน ในรูปแบบ Epsom salt ยังใช้สำหรับการแช่น้ำแร่อีกด้วย
